Crescent Lake

About a week ago Maine had a pretty rough storm roll through.  There were many downed trees and power lines all throughout Maine.  I saw a quick post by the Portland press Herald just before the storm hit saying that it was going to be a bigger storm than they previously expected, but I didn't pay any attention to it.  That night the winds got loud howling outside my windows.  The power at my place in Raymond flickered for a second but did not go out.  We did however lose our internet for two days.

Though I don't know the actual number of power outages this storm has caused, I saw many posts saying that more people were impacted by this storm (in losing power) than were during the Ice Storm of 98.  All week I've been driving over or around downed power-lines and trees.  Tonight I took a quick drive to Crescent Lake in Casco.  Along the way I came across three very dangerous looking downed power-lines.  I noticed lights from many of the near by houses were off and when I shut my truck off I could hear the sound of a few generators running in the distance.  I pulled over and took this photo real quick at the beach on Crescent Lake.  It was very quiet (besides the sound of distant generators) and calm.
