Portland Maine

This weekend I ventured down to Portland, Maine.  The snow covered and crowded roads made me thankful that I don't have to deal with living there anymore (or at least dealing with the parking).  Aside from the parking it can be nice to walk around and explore the shops and take in the sights and sounds, especially since it always seems to be changing and evolving.  It feels like every time that I go to Portland I'm seeing new stores and restaurants.  It will be interesting to see what Portland will look like in 10-20 years.

Below are a couple photos from the East End on Munjoy Hill in Portland.  This has been one of my favorite spots to visit for quite a few years.  Beyond the East End School Garden is a nice stone bench and table that you can sit at and eat your lunch while looking down at Portland taking in the views.

Parking garages are some of my favorite places to go to while walking around and taking in sights.  Each level gives its own unique perspective and view of the city.  The top level of this parking garage in the Old Port gives a great view of the rooftops of some of Portlands buildings.

Below is a building that I had helped install some windows into a couple of summers ago.  It was a really interesting experience seeing such an old building in the heart of a bustling city.  The inside was being completely renovated with new building materials and aesthetic, but original nails, wood, and brick from the 1800's was still holding the place together.
