Narramissic Farm - Bridgton, Maine
Narramissic Farm was built in 1797 by William Peabody in Bridgton, Maine. In the 1830’s William Peabody’s son-in-law, George Fitch, built a Barn and Blacksmith Shop on the property as well. The property stayed in their family until the 1930s, when Mrs. Margret M. Monroe from Rhode Island purchased the property. After her passing, the farm was left to the Bridgton Historical Society. I came upon this property probably about 15 years ago when I would just grab my camera and driver around looking for new places to photograph. The property has changed quite a bit in the past few years with added trails, dedicated parking lot, and the field at the back once had a path that cut across to the woods and is now left to grow. It’s interesting walking around the property, not just because of all the history and the amazing views, but because I feel like every time that I go there I noticed something different.
