Stevens Brook Dam - Blue Heron

While I was taking some photos at Stevens Brook recently I noticed a large bird in the distance right near the Stevens Brook Dam. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a lens that could capture it very well from where I was but I managed to get a few photos of what I realized was a Blue Heron standing in front of the dam. The large bird being so far in the distance doesn’t do it justice, because at one point the bird took off and flew right by me. I swear he was about 4’ long if he was a foot. The first photo below was taken before I saw the Blue Heron because they were just around the corner behind the stone foundation for the bridge. The last two photos you can see the Blue Heron to the left in front of the water cascading down from the dam.
