Chasing Sunrise: A Frosty Morning Shoot on Long Lake
This morning I decided to get up and snag some photos before the sunrise on Long Lake at the Naples Causeway. When I got there I got my camera all ready to go on the tripod and bundled up myself in my winter coat, hat, and gloves. Although I was prepared, I was not prepared for how quickly my hands would go numb while trying to compose a photo and dial in my settings. I think I took about 4 exposures before I felt I had to throw my glove back on and walk back across the lake to the warmth of my truck and one of the photos was a blur because I didn’t even realized that I had pressed the shutter button. I’ve recently realized that I miss doing long exposures and I plan to get out and start doing a lot more of them in the future.
Luckily I was able to walk through the snowmobile tracks to get navigate a little ways onto Long Lake
